Meet Dr. Zachary Weidner, M.D.

Dr. Zachary Weidner is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty focus in hip and knee joint replacement. He practices with The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics in Manassas, Fair Oaks, and Gainesville, Virginia.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Weidner earned his B.A. in mathematical economics from Brown University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. He is proud to have scored in the 94th percentile on Part I of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery examination.

Upon completing his residency, Dr. Weidner pursued an additional year of subspecialty fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive, muscle-sparing joint replacement — including the direct anterior approach to hip replacement, performed using the specialized Hana® operating table, and robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement (MAKOplasty®) using the Stryker MAKO system. He also incorporates the subvastus quad-sparing approach to knee replacement to help patients recover faster and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Weidner is known by patients for taking the time to listen, explain, and answer every question without rushing. He believes an informed patient is an empowered patient — and that philosophy shapes every consultation, every surgical plan, and every follow-up visit. When he's not at work, he loves spending time outdoors with his wife and two young children.
